ABOUT LUCYLICIOUS

Lucylicious Lip Love started as part of a quest to home-make all-natural lip balm that would heal and hydrate, even in the dry high-altitude mountain air of our home near Aspen, Colorado. We wanted no chemicals, no irritants, just pure, clean ingredients, fresh natural scents, and lots of laughter and love while making it.
Crafting small batches in our kitchen, we made a lot of lip balm (!) before finding the perfect blend of just four ingredients: pure beeswax, shea butter, coconut oil, and a touch of vitamin e. Making it takes time and care, but we wanted the best — for ourselves and our family and friends.
We have now turned Lucylicious into a small family business to share the “lip love” with our community. Lucylicious is about your lips feeling amazing, but it is really about joy and connecting with people.

ABOUT THE ALL-NATURAL INGREDIENTS
Commercial lip balms, like processed foods, have come to be filled with chemical ingredients like synthetic preservatives, fillers, and compounds that make them “unnaturally” smooth or slick.
Lucylicious uses only ingredients made by nature, including shea butter which is recommended by the American Academy of Dermatology for lip care. Please note: Shea butter naturally coalesces into tiny “butter beads” in the balm over time. These melt instantly when applied to your lips, releasing all their healing and sealing properties. Their presence lets you know you are using something truly natural, not “pretend-natural.”

Beeswax: Beeswax, with its warm, honey-like scent, is moisturizing, protective, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and antifungal. It both attracts and seals moisture into lips. Rich in vitamin A, it supports healing and protects skin from external irritants while still allowing it to breathe.
Shea Butter: Shea butter is rich in fatty acids that penetrate the skin to deeply hydrate and moisturize. Also rich in nutrients, it contains vitamins A and E and is anti-inflammatory. It is also naturally sun protective: Shea butter has a natural SPF of around 6.
Coconut Oil: Coconut oil is also rich in moisturizing fatty acids and has healing anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. It has a natural SPF of 4-8.
Vitamin E: Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant and natural preservative. It absorbs some UVB rays.
Mica: Mica is inert and neutral. It can scatter UV rays, enhancing sun protective properties.
Mint Essential Oil: Mint essential oil has antibacterial and antifungal properties, as well as antioxidants to fight free radicals. Known as both invigorating and calming, it is good for alertness, focus, and energy, as well as for easing breathing.
Vanilla Essential Oil: Vanilla essential oil has antibacterial properties and antioxidants with anti-aging properties. It is rich in polyphenols and B vitamins that protect skin from pollutants and support cellular regeneration. It is known to calm irritated skin. It can also calm the nervous system, reducing anxiety, blood pressure, and muscle tension, as well as invoke feelings of happiness and relaxation.
